Candlelight protest against US beef in 2008. The original photo was taken by Soyeon Nam for Ohmynews. In June 2008, tens of thousands of people gathered in front of the City Hall of Seoul to criticize the Korean government's decision to import American beef, which was believed to be a possible cause of mad cow disease. People held candles protected by small paper cups as they peacefully expressed their political opposition. This protest lasted over one hundred days from May to August 2008.
